Jared Valarao is the Chief Financial Officer of Philippines AirAsia. He is responsible for planning, managing, and controlling the accounting, treasury, corporate finance, commercial forecasting and strategic planning functions for the Philippine subsidiary of the world’s best low-cost airline. He led the recovery of Philippines AirAsia as the operating fleet more than doubled from 7 operating aircraft upon joining to 16 as of this writing. He negotiated terms and contracts, and restructured debts, which saved the airline USD 1 million monthly. He shored up liquidity even further by raising an extra USD 12 million through commercial contracts and vendor partnerships.
Prior to joining AirAsia, Jared was with Colgate-Palmolive, the world’s leading oral care brand, as the Head of Revenue Growth Management. He is part of the team which led the Philippine business to unprecedented growth. They surpassed pre-pandemic levels, as profits grew as much as the entire European business units of Colgate-Palmolive combined even with supply chain disruptions and high logistics costs. The brands consistently outperformed competition even in already mature and highly competitive categories.
